18th International Seminar on Double Layer Capacitors
& Hybrid Energy Storage Devices

December 8-10, 2008

The Call for Papers for the 2008 seminar has officially closed. Contact Dr. Marincic directly for the possibility of a late entry or a poster paper.

Call for Papers Information

This, the original supercapacitor seminar, which was started as an annual event 18 years ago, is focused on the continuing progress of the development of electrochemical capacitors and hybrid energy storage devices. The topics for the papers submitted include:

  • Basic research leading to better understanding of electrochemical double layer phenomena and to new double layer capacitor materials and systems

  • Hybrids combining faradayic and nonfaradayic electrodes in high pulsing power applications

  • Applications emphasizing the use of electrochemical capacitors in support of other energy generating devices, such as wind generators and internal combustion engines

  • Application of electrochemical capacitors in hybrid arrangements with fuel cell engines for electric vehicles

  • Potential applications of electrochemical capacitors as pulsing power boosters complementing safe low rate primary sources and generators used in oil and gas exploration

  • Stand alone applications are welcome, including those resulting from recently developed Nanogate Capacitor concepts

Timetable for papers:

  • The titles of papers should be submitted directly to Dr. Marincic by e-mail, fax, or by phone not later than July 15th, 2008.

  • The seminar program will be posted on this website, printed during the month of August, and mailed to all potential participants and attendees along with the registration and hotel reservation instructions.

  • Full papers should be submitted by e-mail as an unlocked, i.e., not password protected, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Adobe pdf formatted attachment and be received not later than November 1, 2008 for inclusion in the preprinted book of proceedings and a pdf formatted CD.

Presenters must adhere to the format presented in the Call for Papers Requirements page.
